New competition centre and fast course is waiting for you

Narva Energy Run with its upgraded competition centre and fast track is expecting a participation record again. This year, organisers are expecting 5,000 hobbyist athletes to join the biggest sports event in Ida-Virumaa, taking place in Narva on 11 June. Tickets to the jubilee concert of Anne Veski will be drawn between everyone who registered before 8 March.

Narva Energy Run, which is taking place for the sixth time, will have a new competition centre this year, built at the start of an exclusive riverside promenade next to the recently completed beach building. The start and finish line will be at the same place, complete with a large stage for the award ceremonies and an entertainment programme.

The start and finish area of the Energy Run will also undergo huge changes, winding through the beautiful promenade on the eastern border of the European Union. The track, which was on relatively level ground to begin with, should become much faster and even more runner-friendly because the much protested steep climb on the final kilometre will be left out.

The programme of Narva Energy Run traditionally includes a 21.1-kilometre half-marathon and a 7-kilometre distance for runners, walkers and Nordic walkers. In cooperation with the Estonian Athletic Association, the Estonian championship in half-marathon will be carried out for the sixth time. This year is the first time when finishers of the half-marathon and the seven-kilometre distance will get a medal of Narva Energy Run.

Participants can register for Narva Energy Run for a discount price until the end of May atwww.jooks.ee. Everyone who registers by International Women’s Day at the latest (8 March) has a chance of winning tickets to the jubilee concert of Anne Veski. Considering the current active registering, organisers are predicting 5,000 hobbyist athletes for Narva Energy Run on 11 June for the first time.

Narva Energy Run is an event created by Eesti Energia, Narva City Government, the Ministry of Culture and the Sports Events Organisation Club, the goal of which is inspiring people to become involved in health sports and increase the importance of Ida-Virumaa on Estonia’s cultural and athletic landscape. Narva Energy Run is also the third stage of Selver City Runs, Estonia’s biggest public sports series.
